A Journey of Hope and Transformation
Virtuous Heart Foundation was born from a deep-rooted desire to create meaningful change in the lives of vulnerable children and families in Uganda. What started as a small initiative in Matugga, Wakiso has grown into a beacon of hope for hundreds of families across the region.
Our founder, Angella Kawala, witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by children in her community—lack of access to education, food insecurity, and limited opportunities for growth. Driven by compassion and an unwavering belief in the potential of every child, she established Virtuous Heart Foundation to bridge these gaps and create pathways to brighter futures.
Today, we continue to expand our reach, touching more lives and building stronger communities through our integrated approach to development. Our work is guided by the belief that sustainable change comes from empowering communities to become self-sufficient while providing the support they need to thrive.

Angella founded Virtuous Heart Foundation with a vision to transform lives in her community. Her passion for education and community development drives the foundation's mission forward.

Foundation Established
Virtuous Heart Foundation was born from a dream to transform lives in Matugga, Uganda.
First Education Program
Launched our flagship education sponsorship program, supporting 50 children in their academic journey.
Agricultural Initiative
Introduced sustainable farming programs to help families achieve food security and economic independence.
Community Expansion
Extended our reach to neighboring communities, impacting over 200 families across Wakiso district.
Recognition & Growth

Based in the Heart of Uganda
Our headquarters and primary operations are based in Matugga, Wakiso District, Uganda. This vibrant community serves as the foundation of our work, where we directly engage with families and children who benefit from our programs.
Matugga is located in the Central Region of Uganda, just north of Kampala. The area is home to many families who face challenges related to poverty, limited access to education, and food insecurity—challenges that Virtuous Heart Foundation is committed to addressing.
